I was born and grew up in Tel-Aviv, Israel, constantly surrounded by animals. I could never imagine my life without them and becoming a vet was just a matter of time, along with support from my parents. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Kosice in Slovakia with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. After graduation I moved to London where I worked in a variety of different small animal practices and referral hospitals. In July 2013, I moved to the island with my wife Clarisse and our cat Georgette. My family has now grown larger and we have two beautiful little girls, Alma and Nina who were both born here. I have a strong interest in Radiology and I have recently qualified as a post-graduate Certificate holder in Diagnostic imaging (Radiography, Ultrasonography, CT and MRI modalities). My passion continues and I am already busy studying for the next level in this field.

I joined the team at Vets4Pets at the end of January 2017. Working with animals is something I have always wanted to do. Since qualifying as a RVN, I have taken on a greater management role within the nursing team, and was thrilled to be offered the Head Nurse roll in 2021. Our team has grown and we now have a number of veterinary nurses and veterinary care assistants, and I am very proud of how they have managed to meet our clinical expertise and client care during the very challenging covid period.

Hello! I moved from Cornwall to guernsey in 2019 as a newly qualified veterinary nurse. I completed a 3 year Foundation degree through Plymouth university. I have always had a passion for animals and enjoy working with a wide range of species. During my training I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of animals including working closely with some zoos in the area. I am now completing a series of advanced nursing certifications in reptiles, amphibians, birds and small furries. I enjoy working with all species but have a particular interest in anything weird and wonderful! I currently only have one pet myself, a labradoodle called Evie who certainly keeps my hands full and keeps me entertained! As well as working with the weird and wonderful species I also love working in a client facing role and massively enjoy nurse consultations and chatting to our lovely clients. I’m greatly enjoying the island life and hope to be here for a long while yet

Nikki Shingler

Veterinary Physiotherapist

Read Nikki Shingler bio

My name is Nikki Shingler and I am a fully qualified, IRVAP accredited, veterinary physiotherapist at the Guernsey Vets4Pets Wellness Centre in St Sampson.

I have always loved animals - volunteering at animal rescue centres and veterinary practices from a young age. Naturally I wanted to continue this passion and create a career from it. I decided to study a BSc (Hons) degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University. There I learnt how veterinary physiotherapy can be used to help a range of animals. As well as three years of learning theory and practical skills, I had a year gaining experience on an industry placement. I spent this time at an equine veterinary practice and a small animal rehabilitation centre, complete with a hydrotherapy unit. It was whilst at the rehabilitation centre that my passion for small animal physiotherapy really grew, I learnt so much about how to care for animals with a range of conditions that I felt compelled to continue in this field.
Veterinary physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and/or neurological conditions using a range of therapeutic modalities. It can be used to manage an ongoing condition, after surgery or injury, and promote fitness. The aim is to restore or maintain function and physical wellbeing. As a veterinary physiotherapist, we work alongside our Vets4Pets veterinary surgeons and nursing team to provide a holistic animal care plan which will involve medicinal options and may include acupuncture as well.
